| Many schools across the UK have installed willow sculptures as a way of increasing the value of their school grounds for pupils and for use in teaching the National Curriculum. Children love creating willow sculptures as they can use their imagination while learning about shapes, numbers and nature. Willow sculptures are not just interesting to install they also grow from early spring to late autumn. General maintenance and weaving new growth back into the structure can keep pupils involved throughout the year. |
Willow Igloo for Primary School |
| There are a number of artists around the country, that
specialise in creating sculptures using natural materials, who run courses for teachers
and workshops for children in creating willow sculptures. Details can be found on our using an artist page. We have recently undertaken a project, in conjunction with The Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, at a local Primary School to create a living willow igloo. You can see pictures of the project by clicking here. JPR Environmental supplies quality willow to artists working with schools to create sculptures. Please contact us for further details. |
